Jeff Lyons started out in the 1970’s listening to all the Funk, Rock, Disco and Top-40 of the day. As he listened closer to the sound of each song he would notice the musical relationships of all of the different instruments and how they interacted with each other. Soon he focused in on the low end frequencies and grew to love the bass guitar in the various genres of the day.

Jeff spent most of the 1980’s and 1990’s playing in various local original and cover bands in the San Francisco Bay Area. Also, while playing with all these artists and groups he learned other essential skills such as being a good band mate, being professional, band management, live sound, marketing, recording, working with club owners, booking agents, and private clients looking to hire a band for a wedding or party.

All that on the job training came in handy when in 1997 Jeff joined the dance party band Bay Boogie as the “bass player”. This was his introduction into the world of working corporate gigs, weddings, casinos and festivals. After several years and a few personnel changes the band decided to change its name to Busta-Groove! Shortly after that, Jeff eventually took over as the manager of the group and with the help and expertise of a few key band members the band has been one of the top dance party bands in the San Francisco Bay Area for almost 10 years.

In 2005, Jeff started working for Associated Entertainment Consultants in Burlingame, California and started learning booking and entertainment consulting from one of the best in the business Dennis “Gig” Xifaras. Once at AEC, Jeff started booking all types of events from weddings, kids parties, corporate events/mixers, seminars, festivals, casinos and nightclubs. He also became more involved in audio/video and live music supplying sound and video projection systems for a wide variety of events ranging from 5 to 5,000 people.

While still working for AEC, Jeff launched Lyons Entertainment Group in 2006 and has steadily built up a great reputation for providing excellent services for various public, private and corporate events. Lyons Entertainment’s clients vary from small backyard birthday parties, weddings, seminars, corporate meetings, festivals, nightclubs and the annual San Francisco Cable Car Bell Ringing Contest held in Union Square.
